This And That: 2008

Drastics and more drastics!

Okay, so I've been taking apart more than I've been putting together, but I'm going to try this new self-hardening clay that I'd bought a while back... Most of these are extremely early in their working stage...

And yes, Keltec is still in his putting-back-together stage... He has masking tape to hold him together while the wire and the super glue bond...

I'll post some updated ones once I get a-sculptin'! :)

The Keltec Project...

That's what I'm calling these 2 guys... As I said in the post below, there's currently a jumper, and a photograph inspired horse. i'm considering these 2 guys drastics, but we'll see how they turn out! I also have a 3rd one coming, and he'll be doing a Piaffe. :)

2 Keltics and a chainsaw...

Well, I've had these ideas lurking in my head for what I want to do with my Keltics...

Here's my first idea.. He'll get the bent legs of both models with some editing of course.

My second idea will get the straight legs... I love this photographer.. HOW he got this horse to do this has me clueless...

So watch for these guys... :)

Pinto Painting... Part 2! [Short Version!]

It's been a while... This little guy's mommy has been so patient!

Just a short one... I've painted in pretty much what I've wanted.. It's a little rough, but it's like sketching.

I've only had a layer or 2 of watered down white, and I just added a *slightly* thicker layer over top on his right shoulder and neck. I've left a little bit of room around his white, with the fresh coat, so guide myself where the mapping will go, if I decide to add mapping... :)

I warned you it'd be short! Now, to add more layers to make the white uniformly, well, white. :)

Amirah... Done and gone...

Well, after all that work I put into Amirah, it was 40+ hours, she's been taken by the post office. She arrived at her home with a broken tail. I offered to fix it, and I never heard back, so Amirah is officially out of the model horse world. Very sad.

I had hoped she would've had a good life... Anyway, here's a foal donation, along with a stallion, that sold for only $45. I was very dissapointed! And his owner is selling him... I'm not sure about the stallion yet.

I refuse to paint yellow and other primary/secondary colored horses, so yes, the photos are off... (Same with Anna Amira's!)

Amirah Coming Along...

Well, with LOTS of help from Sarah Mink, Amirah is really coming along! I really have quite a ways to go still, but I'm really excited and motivated to keep working on her... :)

I'm using this for some of the details...

Yet here is the horse that I am actually painting... :)

New Finished/Refinished Pieces/Pieces in progress...

You may have noticed that I've already posted a couple of these horses up for sale, but you may not have known that I've been reworking back into them to make them better! :) Such as Anna Amira!

I've also been reworking into this guy, but I do not have photos yet...

As for in the works, you can see, in the previous blog, by the studio pictures, that I have started several horses... But I've mainly been concentrating on Gammon and Amirah.

I've been on a roll, but I'm starting to feel a little sad... Ah, the wonderful life of artistry.. :)

New Ponies in the Works! :)

Well, despite being so busy with the musical (the pit orchestra), I've managed to get back into the painting mood! :) I actually have alot on my work bench, but I usually pick a couple things and concentrate on them.. Here are some studio shots! :)

Now, usually I don't like sharing pictures of the studio because it's so messy, but if it wasn't, I wouldn't be able to find anything! Of course my dad wants me to straighten it up, and I've tried, but it's so frustrating! And God forbid anybody straighten up! LOL I'm finishing some horses up, and I do have some sales pieces ready! So look out! :)
