It's been an even longer while!!

So I don't know if anyone even reads my blog, but it has ben quite a while since my last post! 2 years??
I haven't died, just gotten lost in the busyness of life! I broke my leg in 2010 when my new horse decided something was stuck a little far up somewhere and bucked me off! Well, I left on my own accord- sort of- and landed on my feet, which made my left tibia go POOF. Well, that's over. 3 surgeries later, I've only got a little bit of metal in there! :) School was fun after that, but that's boring! I don't have my Oscar anymore, but I do have a new look on life, a gossamer social life, and more school to look forward to! This year I started my own photography "business". Small, local, and cheap. It goes along with my painting "business"! I've decided to call it Copper Pony Studio.
I traded in my amazing crosby for a new love, a prestige eventer saddle! Since my dream is to event, and it has already helped with my equitation. I was fighting Bill Crosby's (my Crosby, of course!) desire to put me in a hunter seat. The picture is of my friend Barb's horse, Billy, a veryyy lazy ottb that I have been enjoying! I just love him!! And he loves that 2" log!
I started a new job last thursday, and now that I
took my last final this morning (woof, don't ask), I can work over winter break full time! :) I do hope that architecture is the way that I am destined to go... Otherwise, it will have been a very frustrating waste of school money and time!! LOL I enjoy it, but I'm also nervous for the real world. I
graduate in May! I am taking a year or so off, and then going back to grad school, since you need it to be an architect. Hmm!
The picture to the right is of my friend's horse Roman. I photoshopped it so it looks like he's standing in an indoor and looking out! He was actually standing and posing on the cross country course at the KHP the day we schooled. My mom took it. I wish the sun hadn't been hiding behind the clouds!

Okay, I'm sure you fell asleep a long time ago!
Take care!

The dinky duke needs a little more shading here and there, and the micro mini decorator (charcoal) is already nice and glossy. :) I did not sculpt the tail on the TWH. The mini nahar is for sale by his owner, Mary Hall. She is asking $200. The old mold splash paint chestnut foal is also for sale, by me. :) I wish I could keep that gammon, he's probably my favorite Bay to date! The Arion Medallion, by Rebecca Turner of Solice Art Studio, was a donation paintjob to TIBBP, organized by Deb Buckler of Resins by Randy. :)

So, here are the new ones I've been working on/recently completed. :) I need to get back to homework, otherwise I'd post a longer post. :)

It's been a while!!

Well, ever since I have started college, my life has been insane! Here's an update- to the best of my ability! My last post was in *gasp* July!!

Well, I am attending Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. I am majoring in architecture, and I definitely have less time than you actually think! I tried out for the equestrian team in the fall, and I was one of the few freshmen that made the team. It is the h
unt seat team, and I've decided that I am not going to do hu
nt seat anymore, and that I am just going to do dressage as to not mess with my eventing train
ing, which is where my heart is. :) I did very well with my showing, though. The order goes as follows: 1st, 1st, 3rd, 1st, 1st, 4th (which the judge said I was more "dressagey", which is fine with me!). Here are a couple pictures.

I have been going home on the weekends to ride, which, apparently, is frowned upon by other college students. Why? Because everyone here parties just about every day! It is certainly the party college! Me? You'll be more likely to find me in the saddle. :) I have gotten the opportunity to participate in my first horse trial May 30th, which I am COMPLETELY excited about! I get to ride this horse on Sundays. :) Here's a
picture of us jumping from yesterday (Sun 4/5). I also have started riding a 4 year old off the track Thoroughbred mare, Kensie. She is QUITE the
cutie, and I really enjoy riding her. She is still pretty green, and the canter is (you guessed it!) still pretty crazy, but I think she'll make a wonderful event mare.

I also have the opportunity to be a working student at an event barn this summer. It is the opportunity of a lifetime, but I think that I will have to turn it down for classes. :( It will be quite a sad decision, but it may be the only way. :( I would have taken Kensie for the summer, which would have been great for her and her owner.

On the horsie side, I'm having quite a time accepting some of the judging that has been happening, not only with my horses- but just looking at some of the classes. I think there needs to be a re-evaluation! Just a small rant. :)

I will post a post (he he) following this one for some of the models I'm working on and have finished up.

That's a short version, the regular version would be way too lengthy! And if you all have an attention span like mine- you would lose interest even sooner than this one! He he!

Thanks for reading!

Drastics and more drastics!

Okay, so I've been taking apart more than I've been putting together, but I'm going to try this new self-hardening clay that I'd bought a while back... Most of these are extremely early in their working stage...

And yes, Keltec is still in his putting-back-together stage... He has masking tape to hold him together while the wire and the super glue bond...

I'll post some updated ones once I get a-sculptin'! :)

The Keltec Project...

That's what I'm calling these 2 guys... As I said in the post below, there's currently a jumper, and a photograph inspired horse. i'm considering these 2 guys drastics, but we'll see how they turn out! I also have a 3rd one coming, and he'll be doing a Piaffe. :)
In order of progress:

The most recents... The jumper...

The photographic one..

More will come soon!

2 Keltics and a chainsaw...

Well, I've had these ideas lurking in my head for what I want to do with my Keltics...

Here's my first idea.. He'll get the bent legs of both models with some editing of course.

My second idea will get the straight legs... I love this photographer.. HOW he got this horse to do this has me clueless...

So watch for these guys... :)

Pinto Painting... Part 2! [Short Version!]

It's been a while... This little guy's mommy has been so patient!

Just a short one... I've painted in pretty much what I've wanted.. It's a little rough, but it's like sketching.

I've only had a layer or 2 of watered down white, and I just added a *slightly* thicker layer over top on his right shoulder and neck. I've left a little bit of room around his white, with the fresh coat, so guide myself where the mapping will go, if I decide to add mapping... :)

I warned you it'd be short! Now, to add more layers to make the white uniformly, well, white. :)

Until next time,
Katie
